I know that was a lot of images, I just have a lot of favorites that I enjoy sharing. Several years ago I did not think I would end up a Photographer. I have always had a deep interest in the great outdoors and being creative in some way or form. I developed an interest in bushcraft and survival skills, I took an interest in how the native Americans lived. I watched countless hours of YouTube videos and survival T.V shows.

A time came where I wanted to film myself and teach people what I had learned. This was the birth of Caveman Cody. As of the date of posting this, 3-15-2020 I have just over 24,000 subscribers on that YouTube channel. The more that I filmed the more I learned. I took interest in making my videos look better as well as taking basic photos to represent my interest in nature. Many people began pushing me to pursue photography a little bit further and so I did. It became a fulfilling hobby for me.

As time wore on I rapidly advanced my skills and began shooting photos of people. Which at the time, I was very unfamiliar with. As I became more comfortable with it, I began shooting progressively better and better images for people.
Back in early 2019, I acquired my first DJI drone. My interest exploded. I took the sky and rapidly advanced my piloting skills behind a UAV and began studying for my Part 107 Commercial UAS license. After passing that I promptly acquired my business license. The year 2020 came way faster than I thought it would and I have already booked numerous large scale shoots video and photo alike.

I have been told that a lot of potential clients don’t consider me for a shoot because my website and pages are flooded with nature shots. That is true. But I have extensive skills with shooting people and particularly promotional videos for companies and businesses. I just don’t share a lot of my paid work because a lot of my clients want to be the sole possessor of the content. I have completed multiple weddings, one major music venue, countless personal portrait sessions, and many business promotions including one of my favorites which took place in North Carolina.

My nature photography is merely one of my personal hobbies within the profession. Spending extended time in nature is where I recharge my creativity. I have found that many artists have strange habits or quirks that boost or help their creativity. I am sure many have noticed I have one of my own. I have a distaste for wearing shoes. I have gone on many hikes and spent quite a bit of time deep in the forests and left my footwear at camp or even home. It’s a strange way for me to clear my mind and focus on being uniquely creative. I believe it stems from when I spent weeks or more at a time in the woods when I was in a darker time in my life, which is where I really discovered my interests and what I wanted to do in this world.

I had always enjoyed traveling although, not to cities. Cities are too busy and have a bit too much going on for me. I enjoy visiting new places and areas, seeing different terrains and parks. I would like to start travel vlogging but at least for now, I don’t travel enough for that. If you read this far, you are a trooper. I hope you enjoyed part of my story. If you have any questions or would like something explained or perhaps a video released on something feel free to drop it down in the comments.
